Plantar Wart, Verruca Plantaris

Warts are usually caused by Human Papilloma Virus, and are very contagious. Environments such as bath tubs, swimming pools, locker rooms can all contribute to viral infections of the feet as more virus is prevalent in these scenarios. Once infected, the virus brings out numerous micro blood vessels seen as dark spots, to feed themselves, commonly confused with the "roots". They also make superficial nerve endings very painful when pinched. Many effective treatment options are available such as acid combinations, liquid nitrogen freezing-(not recommended as this may result in scar tissue accumulation), blistering agents, surgical excision, or cauterization via laser. Duct tape and Banana peels have been found to have limited effectiveness.
